Wifi on my linux laptop

My HP Probook Wifi has stopped working. It uses Elementary OS 0.4. Loki. Here are my notes!

I have posted on the elementary forums and then looked further in askubuntu

  1. https://elementaryos.stackexchange.com/questions/16006/wifi-network-unclaimed#16008
  2. https://askubuntu.com/questions/55868/installing-broadcom-wireless-drivers

The 2nd seems pretty heavy, needs to be read in detail
