Rendering RSS on my blog or wiki

I have today installed JP’s Get RSS Feed, a wordpress plugin. I shall be using this to replace my delicious linkrolls using the delicious rss location. See also my snip on Delicious Linkrolls.

It requires a shortcode/codesnip to invoke it’s parameters e.g

[jp-rss-feed
    url="http://feeds.del.icio.us/v2/rss/davelevy/convoyswharf"
    numitems="7" getdesc="50" ]

I should document this differently, but the snip must be on one line, and no space between the [ & the ‘jp’.

There’s a few more parameters which are documented on their home page

Another widgit

and now we have another RSS rendering widget

This was found to be broken on 17th October 2016.

delicious linkrolls

Time to revise this page. It was originally created to document the runes on how to use the delicious provided javascript linkroll generator. I originally saved the code as text in a page, and latterly, from Oct 2013 used Artiss Embeded Code and I located the scripts in code objects. delicious withdrew the javascript. I implemented JP’s Get RSS Feed to fix the withdrawal of the delicious javascript; Continue reading “delicious linkrolls”

London

A city I know well so maybe I should share some stuff with you.

London-w650

The page was probably created as something my US colleagues might refer to, although I never put a “Hotels” linkroll on the page. I was also playing with an ambition to spend a Citybreak in London, I had lived there for many years before moving to Hampshire, and always said to myself that it was great to visit the museums, theatres, concerts and cimemas, but never did. This page was not updated between Feb 2009 and June 2013, although both my google maps and flickr sites were. On this page, I have a google map of my places in the ‘City’ and West End, although it expands to all over the world; it’s my “saved places” map, and I now have a South London & City map which is more up to date. I also have some links to my bookmarks and two linkrolls for restaurants and exhibitions. I also point at my public photos on Flickr.

Places

Firstly, a google map, with placemarks for places to eat and things to do. N.B. I rarely stay in a Hotel and so there are non marked.

Links

I have a number of bookmarks in delicious, I use ‘London’ as a tag, and good secondary tags are Restaurant, ‘food+drink’, exhibition and News. The first list below is restaurants and a couple of web directories. The second list is of London exhibitions I have tagged, the third is a bunch of German bierkellars posted in the evening standard to watch or celbrate Germany’s vicotry in the 2014 World Cup.

This wiki now has a London tag.
