Storage for the 21st century

I had a chat with Kieron Bradley, a long time collaborator and colleague and we looked at new age storage/persistence architectures. New ideas are coming out of Linkedin, and the recommended further reading includes,

  1. http://data.linkedin.com/opensource/kafka
  2. http://ben.kirw.in/2014/11/28/kafka-patterns/
  3. http://data.linkedin.com/
  4. https://spark.apache.org/
  5. http://zookeeper.apache.org/

I supplemented the zookeeper URL by using google, with the keywords, “apache zookeeper linkedin”.

The final reference is white paper by Pat Helland called “Immutability changes Everything”.
